Our CSV import tool uses a multi-step process to deliver a greater amount of accuracy when adding subscribers to StatusHub. The validation step makes it easy to preview your data and review errors before completing the import.
Access the Import Tool
To access the import tool, first, select Users at the top of the Dashboard. This will display the following information and here you will be able to view current subscribers as well as import any new subscribers via a CSV file.
Next, click on Import Subscribers to access the tool and begin the import process.
Note: While it is possible to use your own CSV file for this process, we have provided a template to make the import process easier.
Download the Template (Recommended)
- - Microsoft Teams
* MT column - This should be the webhook URL mentioned in https://statushub.com/integrations/microsoft-teams.
** Label was added so that an identifier can be added to subscribers, this was requested primarily for phone numbers so that a name or employee id could be inputted as the label.
*** This field can be used to connect Subscriptions with visitors authenticated through SAML. Format is "{Hub subdomain}-{NameID send by IdP}".
To download the template, click on 'template' within the blue box on the screen:
After the template has been downloaded, you will be able to open it in Excel or an equivalent program and make the necessary changes. Populate the file accordingly and ensure it is saved as a CSV (Comma Separated Value) file for the import.
Please note that most spreadsheet programs will interpret telephone numbers as equations.
One way to prevent the conversion of the telephone number into a math expression is to include a single quote (') at the beginning of the cell, for example '+48666000000
Upload Your Subscriber CSV File
Select the status page you want to import subscribers into. Then, click on Choose File and select the appropriate CSV file.
Once the file has been selected, you will see the name of the file to the right of this option. Click Upload to finish.
If the file does not contain data for the import, then the following message will be displayed after clicking Upload.
In this instance, you will need to click Start Over and review the file to make certain subscriber records are present and all the required information has been provided.
Reviewing Subscriber Information
Next, the validation step allows you to preview what will be imported and spot any potential errors prior to finishing this process. Once the file has been uploaded (previous step), you will be able to review each subscriber before continuing.
If a record is invalid, then it will appear in red within the list of records. A good example, as shown below, the email address is not complete in the case shown below:
When a record is invalid, it will not be imported as a subscriber in StatusHub for the appropriate hub. You may go back and fix invalid records before finishing the import. Another option is to import valid subscribers from the current file and upload another file with corrected information at another time.
To change the number of displayed entries per page, click on the drop-down menu to the right of Show and choose one of the following options: 10, 25, 50, or 100.
Use the Previous and Next options to navigate when there are multiple pages of subscribers to review.
A Search Feature is also provided to locate one or more subscribers in the list via a filter. The displayed results will dynamically update as the search term is typed into the field.
Use the search field at the top right of the list to search all fields. An individual search field is also provided for each column in the subscriber table at the bottom of each column.
Use the icon located to the right side of the column header to toggle the order of displayed records (ascending or descending).
Completing the Import
To complete the import, click Import valid subscribers at the bottom of the page.
The screen will display the number of successfully imported subscribers and provides options for either visiting the dashboard or importing more subscribers.
Click on Go to the dashboard to see the current subscriber count, as shown below:
By clicking on Subscribers list or on Users again within the Dashboard, you will be able to view each subscriber, as shown below:
As always please feel free to contact support with any further questions regarding importing subscribers within StatusHub.
