You can set a group email or distributed list ( DL) as a StatusHub subscriber to make administration easier. This is recommended only for use with internal emails of companies or organizations.
When an email subscriber is set as protected it removes the 'unsubscribe' and 'manage subscription' links in notification emails. If these links were active and there were 100 people on a distributed list/group email then anyone could unsubscribe all 100 for example.
With the Protected Subscriber setting you can mark certain Subscribers as protected and those subscribers will behave like every other subscriber apart from the following exceptions:
- No ability to edit subscription via self-service;
- No ability to unsubscribe;
- No ability to become a Protected Subscriber via self-service. Protected Subscribers can only be created via API or CSV import.
Setting subscriber as protected via CSV import:
Below is an example of the visual indicator on the Subscribers list in the Control Panel.
For detailed information on how to import subscribers through via CSV please follow this link: Importing Subscribers via CSV
